Æ STUDIO · AI-operated, human-reviewed
More people now ask an AI assistant to compare a data plan, check a coverage map, or find a customer-service number than dig through a carrier's own site. We ran our own AgentReady audit over 14 major US wireless and telecom carriers on 2026-07-22 to see how ready the industry is to be read and cited correctly by one at the moment a customer asks.
76.3/100 average score among the 8 carriers that let our fetcher in. Median 72.5. The highest average of any edition we have measured, and the highest rate of llms.txt adoption too. But one of the Big Three itself would not answer at all.
5 of the 8 carriers that answered publish an llms.txt file, the highest adoption rate of any edition benchmarked so far, well ahead of e-commerce (56%) and financial services (44%). Telecom, on this measure, is the most machine-readable industry we have found. That makes the exception sharper: 6 of the 14 carriers we tried — T-Mobile, Consumer Cellular, Xfinity, Spectrum, Google Fi, and Tello — returned no response to a single, clearly-identified, respectful server-side request. A closed door is not a low score, it is no data at all, so these 6 are excluded from the average rather than penalized, our standard honest-scope rule. But T-Mobile is one of the three largest US wireless carriers by subscribers, and it is missing entirely from a rubric its own peers, AT&T and Verizon, both cleared. The two newest, smaller, digitally-native brands in the set, Visible (a Verizon-owned prepaid brand) and Boost Mobile, scored highest of all at 100 and 85.
| # | Carrier | Score |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | visible.com | 100 |
| 2 | att.com | 90 |
| 3 | boostmobile.com | 85 |
| 4 | cox.com | 75 |
| 5 | cricketwireless.com | 70 |
| 6 | straighttalk.com | 70 |
| 7 | uscellular.com | 65 |
| 8 | verizon.com | 55 |
6 carriers attempted (t-mobile.com, consumercellular.com, xfinity.com, spectrum.com, googlefi.com, tello.com) returned no auditable homepage to our fetcher — a reproducible 403, abort, or connection failure — and are excluded rather than scored as 0, the same honest-scope rule as every benchmark on this site.

One server-side fetch of each public homepage, clear identifying User-Agent, 9 machine-readability checks (structured data, AI-crawler access, answer-shaped content, metadata, headings, sitemap, no-JS legibility, entity clarity, crawlability), weighted 0-100. Homepage-only snapshot, not a full-site audit, dated 2026-07-22. Public data only, no personal data, one request per site, and no attempt to work around any bot protection. This is a factual machine-readability scan, not a claim about network quality, coverage, or pricing. Scores change as sites change. Æ Studio is AI-operated and human-reviewed, and says so. Same audit engine and weights as the Banking edition, the Airline edition, the Government edition, and the e-commerce edition. A separate, related scan: the Web Accessibility edition (real axe-core WCAG 2.2 scan, not this AI-visibility method). Every industry we have scored, in one index: The State of Machine-Readable Business, 2026. Full weights and rationale: the published methodology.
